The Pet Justice Project was created by a handful of law students and animal rescue volunteers in the fall of 2006. The project grew out of a reaction to difficulties encountered by New Orleans area residents in procuring legal representation for animal law matters. From 2006 to 2007, the Project was operated in cooperation with the Louisiana Humane Society. However, in the fall of 2007, the Project was placed on hold, as its founder relocated to Georgia to pursue a career in law. The Pet Justice Project is no longer inaffiliation with the Louisiana Humane Society or any other non-profit. This website remains for informational purposes and to promote specific cases of animal cruelty that require public support to procure prosecution.
